I have been teaching at ICS since 1972, after graduating from SIU-E. I have a degree in Elementary Education with a specialty in Gifted Ed., and have additional graduate work in Learning Disabilities and Behavioral Disorders.I grew up in Columbia and attended ICS and SS. Peter and Paul High School (Gibault). While at ICS I have worked on many committees and projects. I headed the Art Committee which received a grant from the Illinois Art Council. I also helped procure a grant from MCE to help install energy efficient water heaters. I presently chair the ICS Curriculum Committee which meets monthly and the annual Service/Leadership Day. I've received my Basic, Advanced and Renewal levels in the Diocesan Catechist Certification program. I taught 3rd grade when I first came to ICS and now I am enjoying my time as a Second Grade teacher. I really enjoy the family feeling and the small class size here at ICS! When not at school, I enjoy reading, movies and gardening.

My hometown is Columbia, Illinois. I have been a member of Immaculate Conception Church all of my life. In fact, I was married by Fr. Carl July 2008!! During college, I majored in Elementary Education and received a minor in Physical Education. I have Middle School Endorsements to teach Language Arts and Physical Education. While attending McKendree, I received Academic All-Conference and Presidential Scholar from 2003-2007 and graduated Magna Cum Laude.
I have been teaching at Immaculate Conception since 2008. ICS has been a great place to work because of the small, close-knit community. I love to work with all ages of students! My other duties at ICS include: 7th & 8th grade Girls Basketball Coach and Latchkey Director.
Did you know I love to play several sports, especially basketball? I received a full-scholarship to play four years of Varsity Basketball at McKendree University and hold a couple of records, too. Another interesting fact is I am the youngest of six children.
